The short answer
Under Law No. 52/2025 of 3 July 2025 on Trademarks, a trademark is registered for ten years from the filing date and renewed for successive 10-year periods. The renewal request is filed within the year before expiry, with an additional six-month period after expiry and a further fee. Opposition is filed within three months of publication, and a trademark not genuinely used for five uninterrupted years is exposed to sanctions.
