
Dhaka, April 23, 2024 — Advocate J.A. Chaudhury Reagan, a practicing lawyer of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and Founder of SUPREMEiP Law Firm, has been elected as the Organizing Secretary of the Bangladesh Intellectual Property Attorneys’ Association (BIPAA).
The election was held on Tuesday with active participation from members of the country’s intellectual property (IP) community. With his extensive experience in trademarks, patents, industrial designs, and copyright law, Mr. Reagan’s appointment is viewed as a step toward strengthening the association’s organizational and professional activities.
Following his election, Mr. Reagan expressed his gratitude and commitment. “It is a privilege to serve as the Organizing Secretary of BIPAA. The association has an important role in shaping the intellectual property landscape of Bangladesh. I look forward to contributing to its growth, advancing professional standards, and enhancing collaboration with our international counterparts,” he said.
Mr. Reagan is the Managing Partner of SUPREMEiP Law Firm, a Dhaka-based practice representing more than 7,000 clients and working with over 350 associates worldwide. He has advised multinational corporations, local enterprises, and innovative startups on a wide range of IP and corporate matters, and has appeared in opposition proceedings, rectification petitions, and enforcement actions.
Colleagues within BIPAA welcomed his election, noting that his leadership and international exposure will add momentum to the association’s mission of promoting stronger IP protection and awareness in Bangladesh.
In addition to his domestic practice, Mr. Reagan is an active participant in global IP forums, including INTA, AIPPI, APAA, and CIPAC conferences, where he has represented Bangladesh and worked to strengthen ties with the international IP community.
Observers believe that his appointment comes at a crucial time, as intellectual property rights are increasingly central to Bangladesh’s economic development, technological advancement, and global trade.
With its new leadership, BIPAA has pledged to continue its work in policy advocacy, professional development, and international cooperation, ensuring that Bangladesh’s IP regime remains aligned with global standards.
